1. A powerful story about how Cleopatra shows Marc Antony who is boss by arriving on a fantastic boat with perfumed sails. The whole town runs down to the riverbank to see her, while Marc Antony finds he is pontificating to exactly nobody in the town square. Yes, he has a mighty army, but Cleopatra has brains and style and refuses to be treated like an underling.
2. Writing our names in hieroglyphs on plastic that we baked in the oven to make cool cartouche necklaces. Talking about the power of names in Egypt.
3. And, perhaps most enjoyed, TOILET PAPER, that we used to wrap each other as mummies. I got in a little info about how the Egyptians dried bodies with chemicals, but mostly we just wrapped and laughed.
